Instructions

    • 1

Choose a curling iron with a barrel that accommodates the length of your hair. Get a skinny barrel for short hair, a thick barrel for long hair, or both if you have layers.

    • 2

Wash and dry your hair as usual. Separate it into four sections. Use big hair clips or bobby bins to keep three of the sections out of your way.

    • 3

Turn the curling iron on to the lowest setting possible to achieve the look you want. Spray the free section of hair with the heat-protection product.

    • 4

Separate a 1-inch wide section of hair. Starting at the scalp, place the section between the barrel and the clamp and move the iron down toward the ends.

    • 5

When you reach the ends, turn the iron toward your face for a curl-under, or away from your face for a flip. Hold for two seconds, then release.

    • 6

Continue in 1-inch sections until all your hair is curled.
