How to Do Crossover Dribble
A crossover dribble is a basketball move in which a player dribbling the ball switches the ball quickly from one hand to the other to make a change in direction and fake the opponent out. If done correctly, the defender goes with the fake, leaving the dribbler with a clear path to the basket or a wide-open shot. If not done correctly, the ball may easily be stolen by the defender, resulting in a turnover and possible points for the other team.

1
Dribble the basketball with your dominant hand. Make your move when your defender leans to one side or becomes off-balance.
-
2
Fake like you are going to drive right with the ball (if you are right-handed). Lift your right leg to the right to pretend you are driving right. If you are left-handed, drive left with the ball and lift your left leg to the left to pretend you are driving to the left.

3
Crossover dribble from your right hand to your left hand (if your are dominantly right handed) as the defender leans into your fake.
-
4
Stay low to the ground and make sure to cross over and dribble the ball below your knees to ensure the ball isn't easily stolen. Your defender will be lost and caught off guard.
