How to Manually Delete the History in Windows Media Player 11

Windows Media Player 11 saves a history of each file opened in the media player. You may wish to delete this history if other people use the version of Windows Media Player 11. There are software programs that can be purchased, which will delete Windows Media Player and Web browsing history from your operating system. Purchasing one of these programs isn't necessary, however. You can manually delete Windows Media Player 11 history using the media player.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Open Windows Media Player 11.

  2. Step 2

    Click "Tools." Open "Options."

  3. Step 3

    Select the "Privacy" tab at the top of the Options window.

  4. Step 4

    Click "Clear History." Then, click "Clear Caches."

  5. Step 5

    Click "OK" when you're done.
