The Edge is a mid-size crossover SUV that made its debut in 2007. The Edge is built and sold by Ford Motor Company. The Ford Edge and its Lincoln counterpart, the MKX, are built in Ontario, Canada. Unfortunately, removing headrests from the Ford Edge is not as simple as in other vehicles. Most vehicle headrests can be removed without tools; the Ford Edge headrest has a locking nut and a clip that must be removed first.
Things You'll Need
- Allen wrench
Turn the engine off and engage the parking brake for safety. Make sure you are parked in a safe area, away from traffic.
Adjust the headrest to the highest position to access the locking nut. Use the Allen wrench to turn the nut counter-clockwise until the clip becomes visible.
Remove the clip, and the headrest will slide freely from the seat. Repeat the procedure for each headrest you wish to remove.
Tips & Warnings
- Never remove a headrest while driving. This can distract you and cause an accident.
