Things You'll Need:
- scissors
- ribbon
- hot glue gun
- alligator clips (found in most beauty stores)
- candle (needed to prevent ribbon from fraying)
- resin (e.g bug, flower, etc: found in most craft stores)
-
Step 1
Cut the ribbon a little longer so that it covers the entire alligator clip. Please note, the ribbon should wrap around the top prong to give a complete look.
-
Step 2
Light you candle and quickly pass the ends of the ribbon through the flame. This will bond the ends. This method works on most grograin ribbons.
-
Step 3
To attach the ribbon to the metal alligator clip; flip the clip backwards. Now add a little hot glue half way on the metal prong and quickly stick the ribbon. Then add a little glue to the spring fixture (which holds both prongs) and continue to stick the ribbon making sure the ribbon is nicely secured. Then add some glue halfway on the top metal prong and continue to stick the ribbon and finally stick the ribbon to the underside of the top metal prong. Once you are complete the top of the alligator clip should have been completely covered with ribbon.

Step 4
Once the clip is covered with ribbon you can add a resin anywhere on the top of the clip. I have chosen to add the plastic bugs towards the end of the clip.
