The more a laptop is used, the more likely the screen is going to be dirty. Whether there are smudges, streaks, dust, or dirt on your laptop display screen, there is a way to clean it off. Here's how to clean a laptop LCD display screen.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A laptop LCD display
  • A soft cloth (cotton or microfiber)
  • Water
  1. Step 1
Try using a microfiber or cotton towel to clean a laptop LCD display

The majority of streaks and smudges on a laptop LCD display come from people touching the laptop screen. To clean these smudges off, you will need a cotton cloth, such as a towel. Microfiber fabrics, such as a small eyeglasses cleaning cloth, will also work.

  2. Step 2

Try lightly rubbing off the dirt and smudges with just a cloth. Be careful not to apply too much pressure as you clean a laptop's LCD display, as you do not want to damage the screen. Keep in mind, you cannot replace a laptop LCD display if you break it. Hopefully any smudges will come off, but if there are more stubborn streaks or smudges, keep reading.

  3. Step 3

Try wetting a cotton towel with a little water. Lightly wipe where the smudges and dirt are in order to clean a laptop LCD display. After the screen is wet, take a dry portion of the towel and gently scrub where the laptop LCD display is wet. You should see some improvement in how clean your laptop's LCD display is. If you see improvement, but the laptop LCD display is not 100% clean yet, try wetting and scrubbing the screen again.

  4. Step 4
If you have special cleaning liquid, use it

If you have some sort of LCD display cleaner, or screen cleaner, you can also use that to clean a laptop LCD display. I focused primarily on using water to clean a laptop screen, since most people do not have LCD cleaner in their homes. Also, if you so desire, you can try using compressed air to remove some excess dust off of the screen.
