Treating headaches and migraines can be done easily utilizing aromatherapy techniques with essential oils. Often all it takes is a cool compress infused with essential oils to relieve the pain associated with a headache or migraine.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make a cold compress using lavender and peppermint. Apply the cold compress to your forehead and lie down in a darkened room until the pain starts to ease. Once the compress reaches room temperature, replace it with a cool one.

  2. Step 2

Herbal tea is a traditional, effective treatment for dealing with migraines and headaches. Herbal tea is great for relieving every day stress as well. Make your own herbal tea by steeping dried herbs like chamomile in boiling water for ten minutes, strain and drink. Lime flower is also a calming tea and will help with stress and headache pain.

  3. Step 3

Massage the base of your neck with 3 drops of marjoram essential oil that has been mixed into one tablespoon of base oil such as sweet almond oil. A neck massage with a warming essential oil such as marjoram can easily release and relieve any tension you may have in your neck muscles.
