Overcome Shyness In Social Situations Easily

Many people have issues with shyness. Whether it's do to self consciousness, social anxiety disorder, or just being a shy person, overcoming shyness and social phobia/social anxiety can be accomplished. The younger you are the harder it can be to overcome shyness. Lack of certain social skills and experiences can make it especially tough to break out of your shell. Here are a few tips and exercises to help you overcome your shyness in social situations.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Break out of your comfort zone. Go to public places and interact. Make it a goal to strike up at least 2 conversations with complete strangers. Giving a random person a compliment can be a great conversation starter.

  2. Step 2

Take interest in what other people have to say. If you seem interested in their conversation, people will keep talking if they think you want to hear what they have to say.

  3. Step 3

Relax, don't worry about people judging you on what you have to say. Part of it is just talking. Act like you are just talking to a close friend or relative. Everyone is just like you, chances are they are nervous as well.
