How to Get an IP Address

An IP address is necessary for Internet access.

An Internet Protocol, or IP, address is a string of numbers assigned to a computer connected to the Internet. Every device on the Internet has a unique IP address. For example, Google's IP address is: 74.125.224.114. Not all IP addresses are static. This means that an IP address might change each time the computer connects to the Internet. You can find the IP address for your computer as well as that for any website.
