How to Make a Neopet Layout

Neopets is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) where players adopt creatures called Neopets who live in the land of Neotopia. Throughout the journey, players raise their pets by training and playing mini-games, buying powerful items along the way to progress through the Neotopia world. Neopets offers players an opportunity to create their own guild or personal page. One way of attracting people to your guild or personal page is to make it appealing to others; a proper layout can make or break your page's presentation.

1. Find and download your preferred graphic to use for your Neopet layout. You can try accessing Google Images or Flickr for a library of images to download and use. Ask permission from the creator of the photograph first if the picture does not fall under the Creative Commons Liscence.

2. Open up your downloaded picture with Adobe Photoshop. While you can make a layout using MS Paint, the quality and tools will not be as great as Adobe Photoshop.

3. Create a new image template sized 430 by 580 pixels. This is the optimal size for shaping the picture of your layout.

4. Import your downloaded picture onto the template in Adobe Photoshop. One way to do this is by opening the picture itself through Adobe Photoshop, go to "Select, All" then "Copy" the image. Click back onto the blank 430 by 580 template and choose "Edit, Paste" on the menu top bar.

5. Select the square tool on your "Toolbox" window, then drag open a square anywhere in your image. These boxes are used to input your text over the image. On the "Layers" box, select an opacity for your box anywhere between the 30 to 70 percent range.

6. Go to "File," then "Save As" to save the changes on your layout. When prompted to choose a "File Format" choose "JPG" under the drop-down menu. Click on "Save" to finalize the process.
