How to Make a Pacificer Corsage

A corsage featuring a pacifier is a great baby shower favor for the mom-to-be. Though you can purchase pacifier corsages, they're easy to make on your own. Once the shower is over, the corsage is easy to take apart and Mom will have a new pacifier for her little one.

Instructions

    • 1

Trim the stems of the carnations to about four inches. Twist the stems together and wrap with florist's wire. Cover with florist's tape.

    • 2

Make a bow with the ribbon around the handle of the pacifier. Tuck the pacifier between the two flowers and tie the ends of the ribbon in a second bow around the flower stems to secure.

    • 3

Using needle and thread, make a long running stitch along one long edge of the fabric, lace or tulle. Pull tightly to gather. Arrange this ruffle around the base of the flower heads and pacifier, fanning it in a circle. Tie the ends of the thread tightly to secure.

    • 4

Tie the second piece of ribbon underneath the ruffle and make a bow. Pin the corsage to the mom-to-be with the diaper pin.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you buy the kind of pacifier with a hole on each side of the base, thread the ribbon through these holes and use to secure to the flowers. You can tie a small baby spoon, rattle, more diaper pins and other small items to the ends of the ribbons. If you prefer, use other sturdy flowers instead of carnations.
