Darkgardnyer,

Wood pellets are an inexpensive heating product, and best of all, they are a green fuel, made from recycled wood and offcuts that would otherwise be discarded. Buying a used pellet stove is not difficult, and depending on the square footage of the home you are to heat, can save you thousands of dollars on heating expenses. Buying a used pellet stove for half price saves enough money to buy at least one full year's worth of pellets to burn in your stove.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Visit DiscountedPelletStoves.net to view many used wood pellet stoves available for purchase. Videos and articles are posted on this site to ensure you make an informed decision on your future home heating purchase. Check local building codes, area ordinances and covenants where you reside to see if you are permitted to install a wood pellet stove.

  2. Step 2

Check to make sure you live in an area that sells wood pellet fuel inexpensively. If you live in the Midwest, a corn stove purchase may be a more fitting heating method for you, whereas if you reside in the northeast, wood pellets are likely to be in plentiful supply and inexpensive to buy.

Check the local newspaper classified section for used wood pellet stoves. Ask about used or refurbished stoves at stores where you can buy wood pellets. Arranging to pick up your pellet stove yourself eliminates shipping charges.

  3. Step 3

Decide on a pellet stove that suits the decor in your home and one that emits enough heat to warm a sufficient amount of space in your house. Check on fittings that you will need to install for your wood pellet stove, and inquire to see if the seller (online) will ship them together with the pellet stove for an extra fee.

  4. Step 4

Think about the shipping weight of your used pellet stove, which may weigh 300 lbs. or more. Should the seller be willing to ship your pellet stove free of freight charges, you are in luck; if not, check on freight carriers to see how much the shipping charges will be.

  5. Step 5

Call a professional wood pellet stove installer after your heater arrives. Hiring a professional installer eliminates the chances of an accident happening due to a wood pellet stove incorrectly installed.

Tips & Warnings
