Lip balm is extremely popular as a way to moisten lips that have been dried by harsh weather conditions. Lip balm can also be used to protect the lips from damage that can be caused by the sun, wind and cold weather. An all-natural lip balm can easily be made with just a few ingredients, in very short amount of time. This rose lip balm can also be used every day to moisten and protect your lips.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 tsp. grated beeswax
  • 4 tsp. almond oil
  • 1 tsp. rose water
  • Grater or potato peeler
  • Double boiler
  • Glass bowl
  • Glass or ceramic container with lid
  1. Step 1

Melt 2 tsp. of grated beeswax in the double boiler. You can find beeswax at your local health food or herbal store; it usually comes in a cake form or in a small container. Grate or shave with a potato peeler so it will melt quicker.

  2. Step 2

Beat in 4 tsp. of almond oil after the beeswax has melted. Turn the heat down to low. Once again, you can find the almond oil at your local health food or herbal store.

  3. Step 3

Heat the rose water in the glass bowl over the saucepan of the double boiler. Shop your local health food or herbal store for rose water or make your own by steeping rose petals in hot water.

  4. Step 4

Remove both the oils and the rose water from the heat. Stir the rose water into the oils.

  5. Step 5

Pot the finished lip balm into a small glass or ceramic container while it is still warm. Seal and put in your purse for easy access and regular use.
