The Odyssey is a popular minivan sold by the Japanese auto manufacturer Honda. The Odyssey was introduced in 1995. The 2000 model Honda Odyssey is the third-year model of the second body style with the addition of traditional minivan sliding doors. You can repair the horn yourself in most cases with little mechanical ability and simple tools.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pliers
  • Phillips-Head Screwdriver
  • 12V 30A Horn Relay
  1. Step 1

Pop the Odyssey's hood and engage the parking brake. Disconnect the negative battery terminal located on the driver's side of the engine bay.

  2. Step 2

Locate the horn relay mounting on the passenger side strut tower. The strut tower is a metal grounding above your tire. Remove the old horn relay and disconnect the wiring.

  3. Step 3

Install the new relay using the existing wiring. Mount the relay and install the wiring. Reconnect your negative battery terminal. Test your horn; if the horn still does not work, you may have a short in the wiring, which requires a visit to a professional.

Tips & Warnings
  • Provide the auto parts store with your VIN to ensure relay compatibility. Although the Honda Odyssey relay is 12V 30A, you still need to verify it works with your vehicle.
