Sight in a Compound Bow
Sight in a Compound Bow

This article will help you sight in your compound bow. When you get a new bow or new sights you will need to set those sights so the bow is accurate.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • sights
  • bow
  • wrenches
  • target for shooting
  • arrows
  • release
  1. Step 1

The first thing to do is to make sure the sights are on your bow correctly and tightened down so they will not move. You should start with your first pin or the one on the top. Shoot an arrow and see where it hits the target.

  2. Step 2

Next if the arrow hits the target to high for example then you need to loosen the screw that is connected to the top pin and raise it. If you raise the pin, when you shoot, the arrow will go down and if you lower the pin, the arrow will go up.

  3. Step 3

Next if the arrow is shooting to the left of the target then you will need to slide the sight to the left. There will be a screw to loosen that will allow the sight to move to the left or to the right. By moving the sight to the left, the next shot will be closer to the bullseye. From there its just trial and error until you get the arrows flying to the spot you want them to.
