Replace a Golf Club Grip
Replace a Golf Club Grip

In this article you will learn how to regrip a golf club. if you play golf you will eventually need to replace the grips on your clubs. It is easy to do yourself, instead of paying someone else to do it for you.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • grips
  • solvent (lighter fluid will do)
  • golf club
  1. Step 1

The first thing you need to do in changing the grips on your golf clubs is to cut the old ones off. You will need a fairly sharp knife to do this. Cut down the length of the grip so you can remove it more easily.

  2. Step 2

Next you will add the adhesive tape that comes with your new grips. Stick it where the old grip was. Make sure there are no bubbles in it, as it needs to be smooth on the shaft.

  3. Step 3

The last thing you need to do is add your solvent to the tape on the shaft. The solvent is used to slide the grip onto the shaft more easily. The easiest way to do this is to take a golf tee and plug the hole in the butt end of the grip and pour the solvent into the grip on the other end. Shake the grip to spread the solvent and coat the inside of the grip. Then just slide it onto the shaft. The solvent will dry and the grip will not move. So make sure you slide the grip on as far as you can. That's it.
