Radio removal, diy

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 7mm nutdriver, phillips screwdriver, panel removal tool
  1. Step 1

First, you will want to remove the low center trim panel below the temperature control panel. It's held in with metal clips and it will pull straight out. Once that panel is removed you will see the two phillips screws, remove these screws.

  2. Step 2

Next, you will be removing the trim panel above the radio on the top of the dash. It will come off starting at the rear of the panel and lifting straight up. It has the same kind of metal clips holding it in place. Once you have this piece removed, remove the two screws that are now exposed, similar to the lower panel you already removed.

  3. Step 3

Now you can remove the panel that surrounds the radio and the temperature controls, with the vents in the middle. It will pull straight back and out, it has the same metal clips as the other panels. Now you will see the screws that are holding the radio in place. They are 7mm screws, and most times a phillips head screw also. All that's left is to pull the radio out and unplug the harness and antenna lead.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use plastic panel removal tools, they will scar the dash less than metal ones or flat blade screwdrivers.
