Faded is the way to go!
Faded is the way to go!

Are you tired of spending money on expensive jeans in the stores? If the answer is yes, follow these quick and easy step to create your own pair of faded denim jeans!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sandpaper
  • Water Bottle
  • Crayon (any color)
  1. Step 1

The first step you're going to have to take is finding a pair of jeans that you want to fade. You can either use a pair of your old ones or purchase an enexpenisve pair from the store.

  2. Step 2

After you have the jeans ready, you're going to have to lay all of your materials out. Laying all of your materials out in front of you will ensure that you don't skip any steps.

  3. Step 3

Lay the jeans out in front of you and pick up your crayon. The color of the crayon won't really matter for this step. Mark the pattern you are wishing to create. This means going back and forth with scribbles horizontal as well as vertical. You should mark the pants with crayon everywhere you wish to have a "faded" effect.

  4. Step 4

Next thing you want to do is take the sandpaper and rub back and forth across the crayon colored parts. As you are sanding the pants, be sure to spray from the water bottle. You don't have to spray every time you sand but be sure to do it somewhat. Not spraying will cause you're faded effect to become a "rip".

  5. Step 5

The last and final step to completing your faded jeans is to wash them. Before putting them in the washer, turn them inside out, this will wash your faded effect into the jeans. Put it on two wash cycles at the least and be sure to tumble dry the pants. Once they're dry, you're done!
