  • A computer (either a Mac or PC running Mac OS X or Windows)
  1. Step 1

    First we will look at how to check the amount of RAM a PC computer running Windows has. To do this, first locate My Computer.

    Right-click on My Computer and select properties. Your System Properties window will open. Towards the bottom, it will say the amount of RAM a computer has.

    Now if you want to check the amount of RAM a Mac Computer has, the process is also very simple. Click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen. Select "About this Mac" or "About this Computer". The amount of RAM a Mac Computer has will be displayed in the window that opens.
