Vibrating at a very fast energy rate, flower essences have easy access to the mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies. The energy goes to where the healing needs to happen.
Using flower essences with pets involves careful and sensitive observation. Understanding of the feelings of the animal is important in flower essences selection. If you are a pet owner, don’t forget to examine your own feelings in regard to the animal. Sometimes problems with animals are solved by the owner using flower essences as well!

    Selecting Your Flower Essences
Probably the easiest way to select which flower essence your pet needs is by reading the definitions given for each remedy. Suggested books to research are The Flower Essence Repertory, Healing with Flower or Gemstone Essences, or The Flower Remedies Handbook, or Flower Essences & Vibrational Healing.
Since flower essences are Vibrational, using a pendulum or muscle testing is a way of asking the animal’s own energy bodies to confirm the correct remedy. Keep in mind that a person or pet can test strong for different essences at different times. You may also discover that your pet tests strong for a combination of essences, usually 3 or 5. It’s not recommended to combine more than 5.
Research is always a good place to start.

Giving flower essences to your pet
Once you’ve chosen your remedies, flower essences can be given in several ways. You can place a few drops from your dosage bottle onto your pet’s tongue or inside its cheek, or put a few drops in the pet’s water twice daily. Drops can be placed on food or in a treat, or even on the animal’s skin (nose or inside ear flaps)
In a crisis essences can be given every 5 minutes as needed.

Tips & Warnings
  • Most health food stores carry a large variety of flower essences. Large organic grocery stores such as Whole Foods also has flower essences. Check at Amazon.com, Bach.com, or FES for flower essences. You can also make your own flower essences if you have flowers available to pick. See my article on How To Make Flower Essences.
  • Use of Flower Essences for pets does not replace veterinary care. If you feel you have an emergency, always seek a medical professional.
  • There are no contraindications or side effects from using flower essences. However, alcohol (brandy or vodka) is often used to preserve the essences. Some flower essence companies use glycerin or apple cider vinegar to preserve and is another alternative.
