How to Open Your Pool for the Spring
Spring time is a great time of year and the time to get your pool ready for those warm summer days. After a long and cold winter, warmer temperatures come and it's time to open the pool again for some swimming. Although it may seem like you can turn all of the accessories on and start swimming, there are certain things that must be done before this can happen. Take off the pool cover.

Vacuum and wash the walls of the pool. Make sure that you do a thorough job.

Remove all the pool inlet and outlet plugs that connect to the filtering system.

Put back any pool accessories that you have such as diving boards, ladders, or any other equipment you removed for the winter.

Check the filter and clean out any debris.

Adjust the pH to the proper level. Super chlorinate or shock your pool to kill any bacteria or other contaminates in the pool. Follow directions on the chlorine products for adding the proper amount.

The water will likely be at a lower level than it should be at, so fill the pool until the water level is correct.
