    Map it out.
Decide what areas you need to touch up to keep your home fresh and inviting. For example, I make sure my counters, floors, mirrors and bathrooms are fresh. As well as dusting.
Break it down by item. 1-Dust: Living room, Blinds, Bedrooms
    2-Counters: Kitchen, Bathrooms. 3-Mirrors, 4-Floors and Trash.
Write each of your items down on paper and number them. Now move to step 2

  2. Step 2

Now start with # 1. Do only #1 until it is complete. If you are starting with dusting dust every area. When complete, cross it off of your list and move to the next. Keep in mind that this is a quick touch up and you should only spend you a few minutes on each item. When done try the next steps listed in step 3.

  3. Step 3

Freshen the air. Open windows to create a cleansing flow of air. That is if the weather permits. Light fresh smelling candles. Nothing to fragrant. Sometimes heavy candles make it seem as if you are trying to cover odors. Spray sofa's with fabric freshener such as Febreeze. Also before vacuuming sprinkle baking powder on your carpets. Also empty all the trash cans in your home. Even if they are not full they can still harbor nasty odors.

  4. Step 4

on 12/29/2009 Awesome! I also keep Lysol or Clorox wipes handy. They are a quick and easy cleanup for almost any surface. Even when I am not cleaning technically, I will walk by and pull one out and wipe. Plus with cough and cold season, you kill all those germs in a matter of moments!
