Things You'll Need:
- 1/2 lb bacon
- 1 lg onion
- 2 okra fresh or frozen
- 1 tablespoon tony chachere's seasoning
- 2 cans rotel tomatoes
-
Step 1
This is a great recipe if you like okra. Have your skillet warming while you cut up the bacon. Wash, and cut the fresh okra (frozen can be used), and cut up the onions. Place onions, bacon, and okra in warm skillet. Cook until liquid is cooked out of okra. A tablespoon of butter can be added if your pan gets too dry. This takes about 20 to 30 min. It is done when okra no longer has liquid in it. Add about a tablespoon of tony cacheres seasoning. Less is needed for taste.
-
Step 2
When bacon, okra, and onions are done add the 2 cans of rotel tomatoes, stewed tomatoes can be used if desired.
Simmer this for 10 to 20 min. -
Step 3
This is great served with fried chicken, rice, and hot cornbread. Any leftovers can be frozen for a later meal.
Mouth watering good.
