Many people are seeking a natural sleep aid. Here’s one that is free, safe, and you don’t have to swallow anything. Further, this natural sleep aid is very travel friendly – you can use it at home or away without taking anything with you. And because it uses acupressure, there’s a chance it may rewire you to sleep more naturally on your own over time.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find the correct pressure points. You’ll want to memorize your natural sleep aid areas so you can do them without added thought or stress. Locate the webbing between your big toe and second toe, then move to the top of the foot near this area between the toes. For your second natural sleep aid point, find the point at the center of the breasts (for larger women, the center of the breasts when they are firm and lifted). Then move a couple of inches up from that area.

  2. Step 2

Apply pressure to the first natural sleep aid point. In the evening or while in bed, with thumb or fingers, gently press into the area at the top of the foot (either foot) until it “hurts good.” Don’t cause serious pain or do damage, but try to stimulate this area, which can help calm and relax the mind. Press for 60 seconds. Repeat on other foot.

  3. Step 3

Apply pressure to the second natural sleep aid point. Press the area near the center of the breastbone as you did in step two. This area is also known to be a natural sleep aid because releasing blocks in this area is very relaxing and calming. Have you ever seen someone under sudden stress rush their hand to their chest area and hold it there? Their natural instincts knew this was a place to stimulate to release stress, and you can use it as a natural sleep aid.

  4. Step 4

Continue and experiment. Using just one or the other alone may be all the natural sleep aid you need. Or, using both may be necessary, with cumulative benefits over time. Be extra gentle at first, especially if the area is very sore. You can also stop and start the pressure until you feel a sense of release.
