How to avoid airplane earache.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Make a note in your diary a couple of days, or even the day before you fly.

  2. Step 2

Get a clean dropper (your clean finger will do if you don't have a dropper), some olive oil, and a paper tissue ready.

  3. Step 3

Put a couple of drops of olive oil in each ear, just before bedtime. Let the oil run down into each ear.

  4. Step 4

A nurse told me this natural tip and it works a treat. It works by dissolving the hard wax in your ear, which pushes against the inside of your ear due to the pressure in the airplane cabin, and causes the pain.

I did this for just 2 nights before I flew and didn't even need to take any oil with me for the return flight 2 weeks later.

This works every time, where sucking a sweet, holding my nose and blowing, and chewing had failed.

Tips & Warnings
  • A paper tissue will be handy in case any oil dribbles back out of your ear when you are putting the drops in!
  • Take medical advice first if you have a perforated eardrum or any other ear problems.
