Facebook is a social networking website that allows you to communicate with friends and family by sending them messages to their inbox, writing on their wall and chatting with them live. Setting up an account on Facebook is a simple process if you know the basics of a computer.

1. First, go to their website at www.Facebook.com.

2. Next, there will be an area to sign up near the top right of the page. You will need to enter information such as your name, email address, password, gender and birth date.

3. After that, click the button "Sign Up" and you will be automatically brought to a screen that says "Confirm Your Account". There will be directions on the page telling you to confirm your account simply by checking your email and clicking the link that has been provided.

4. In addition to the above steps, set up your profile. Enter information that you you would like your friends and family to know about you as anyone on your "friends list" can access this page. You can enter your favorite quotes, movies, books, heroes and additional information about you.

5. Start searching for friends and family by entering their name on the top right. You will be able to start chatting with friends and getting reconnected in no time.
