Motivate Yourself to Revise
Motivate Yourself to Revise

You want better grades and know you should be revising now but it just seems so long and boring you'd rather just stay put on the internet or go watch some TV or something.

I've been there many times before and I managed to find a way out so now I want to help you out. You can thank me later lolz just pay attention. I'll make it short and simple.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Draw a seesaw or just put an arrow in between. On one side put down all the obstacles that is stopping you from doing your revision on mine I wrote Loss of TV, browsing, relaxation and comfort that’s all I could think of. On the other side put all the rewards and things you will get from revising on mine I put respect, prove people wrong, the power of going to a uni of my choice, less stress on exam days, have no regrets in the future and to be so happy on results day, self achievement, self fulfilment I had so much more as well but we’ll be here all day.

  2. Step 2

When your conscience is telling you to revise and you don’t want to look at it because the point I’m trying to get across is that on the good side the seesaw completely outweighed the other side, just by looking at it I could see the obstacles where nothing compared to the things I would be gaining which I wanted so badly. So no matter what I was doing, looking at it would make me want to revise because it made me realise that revision is such a small price to pay the rewards you would definitely be able to get.

  3. Step 3

Always remember when you revise don’t set yourself a large chunk to do because you will easily get demotivated, do something small or something you know you can do comfortably. Also try to make sure you’re in a lit room with no distractions. When you can feel yourself starting to get tired don’t force it, just take a break and maybe watch an episode on TV, but make sure you go back to finishing your revision.
