How to Use Quicken 2007
Quicken is popular financial management program that can be used to manage virtually all of your transactions. This software offers various tools for both business and personal use. Utilizing the features offered by Quicken can assist you in nearly any type of money situation you may encounter.

Select accounts to track in Quicken, and link the Quicken program to your various accounts. Quicken will guide you through the process to link your online financial accounts to the software. Simply select "Add Account" to prompt the Quicken account setup menu. Include all of your accounts to get a complete overview of your financial status.

Use "Express Setup" to initially customize Quicken. The express setup will ask for information such as your name, your dependents, your residency, checking accounts, paychecks, income, credit cards, monthly bills and expenses. The express setup should load automatically on the first launch of Quicken. However, if it does not, simply select "File" and then "New" to prompt it.

Manage your finances by configuring Quicken to report the difference between income and expenses. Click on "Budget" to create a budget that will allow you to manage each facet of your spending. You can configure Quicken to report by the week, month or year. This feature will help you easily know how much money you have left over after paying bills.

Create and track savings goals using Quicken. Click on "Planners" to create goals for saving for retirement, college funds, a home purchase or a vacation. To access your saved plans, simply click on "Go to Planning Center."

Pay your bills through Quicken by configuring your Quicken account with your credit card and utility accounts to easily manage your bills all in one place. Configure these settings just as you did the initial account setups through the account setup wizard.

Prepare and pay your taxes through Quicken, as Quicken has a partnership with Turbo Tax. Compute your taxes, discover any deductions and submit your tax return electronically by clicking on "Tax" to track your tax-deductible expenses. Click on "Use Turbo Tax" to import and export financial data.

Instructions may vary slightly for other versions of Quicken; these instructions were designed for Quicken 2007.
Beware of inputting errors in your Quicken account; otherwise, your financial data reports may be incorrect.
