How to Scan a Document & Fill It In
Scanning a document to your computer saves time. You can save the document on your computer and retrieve it whenever you want. Once your document is scanned, you can fill in the applicable fields for a form and then resave, print, email or fax the completed PDF in a legible format.

Scan the document you want to fill by loading it into your scanner and selecting the scan button. Your document will be automatically scanned into your computer.

Follow the screen wizard for your scanner software and save your document as a PDF file. Be sure to specify the location you want to place the document in when you save your file.

Register for a PDF filler program. You can also use online programs such as PDFfiller to fill your PDF document and use it later. To use this software, go to the PDFfiller website (link in Resources) and complete the registration.

Select the "Home" link to begin.

Click on "Browse" beside "Upload .PDF file" and navigate to the scanned document on your computer. Then select "Upload." Your document will be uploaded and you'll see thumbnails of your PDF pages on the left.

Click on a page thumbnail to jump to the page you want to fill.

Select the font, size and style you want to use for your text. Then place your cursor on the area of your PDF that you want to fill. You can align your text within the form line by dragging the crossbar with your mouse.

Save your updated file by selecting "Save." Click on "Done" to print, email, export or fax your filled document.
