How to Unlock a Cingular Sidekick 3

The Sidekick 3 is a smartphone that features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It is available on select U.S. GSM (T-Mobile, Cingular, AT&T) carriers, but can be used on overseas carriers provided you install the carrier's SIM card.

Things You'll Need:

• SIM card from GSM carrier of your choice

1. Turn off the Sidekick 3. Remove the Cingular SIM card. Insert the SIM card you want to use inside the Sidekick 3.

2. Turn the phone back on. Ignore the prompt for the special code.

3. Go to "Settings." Select "SIM Center."

4. Enable "SIM Lock" if it is not enabled already. Change the SIM pin number to something you will remember.

5. Go to "Settings" and select "Network Options."

6. Scan the network. This will connect your phone and SIM card to the carrier associated with your SIM card. Select the network when it is located.

Tips & Warnings

• Anytime you remove the SIM card, you will need to re-scan for a network.
