How to Unlock a Cingular Sidekick 3

The Sidekick 3 is a smartphone that features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It is available on select U.S. GSM (T-Mobile, Cingular, AT&T) carriers, but can be used on overseas carriers provided you install the carrier's SIM card.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • SIM card from GSM carrier of your choice
  1. Step 1

    Turn off the Sidekick 3. Remove the Cingular SIM card. Insert the SIM card you want to use inside the Sidekick 3.

  2. Step 2

    Turn the phone back on. Ignore the prompt for the special code.

  3. Step 3

    Go to "Settings." Select "SIM Center."

  4. Step 4

    Enable "SIM Lock" if it is not enabled already. Change the SIM pin number to something you will remember.

  5. Step 5

    Go to "Settings" and select "Network Options."

  6. Step 6

    Scan the network. This will connect your phone and SIM card to the carrier associated with your SIM card. Select the network when it is located.

Tips & Warnings
  • Anytime you remove the SIM card, you will need to re-scan for a network.
