How to Fold a Square Scarf
Many women look to handbags, shoes or jewelry when accessorizing an outfit. They tend to overlook the scarf and its ability to add pizazz to a simple ensemble. It is a versatile accessory that can be worn on the head, or around the shoulders or waist. Typically made of materials such as silk, wool and cotton, scarves come in a variety of shapes, including square, triangular and rectangular. Spread the scarf out on a flat surface.

Hold two adjacent corners of the scarf in your hands.

Fold down each corner approximately 2 inches to form a strip consisting of two layers of fabric. Continue to fold the scarf onto itself until you have one thin strip of fabric.

Tie the folded scarf around your waist as you would a sash.
Neck Wrap

Position the scarf on a flat surface so it resembles a diamond, as opposed to a square, shape. One corner will be pointing toward you.

Fold it down diagonally to form a triangle.

Place the triangle, point hanging down, over the front of your neck. Crisscross the two ends at the back of your neck and bring them back to the front.

Tie the ends together.

Arrange a layer of fabric over the knot to hide it.
