In this economy you can't afford to lose your job. Knowing that you might be next to go isn't worth the stress. Follow these suggestions to make sure that you and your job are secure.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Intuition
  • Ingenuity
  • Creativity
  1. Step 1

The first step to take when securing yourself at your job is to suck up to the boss. Send him/her thank you cards and get on their good side. Be their friend and hang out with them after work. Don't be some unknown person at the office. People who stick around in a company are those that stand out.

  2. Step 2

If standing out socially isn't working then stand out as an excellent worker. Get twice as much work done in half the time. Stay ahead of the game by being at the job an hour early and leaving an hour late.

  3. Step 3

If working you heart out just isn't possible than it's time to do some covert working. Do jobs that no one else could duplicate. Keep how you perform certain tasks a secret so that you become a vital worker on the job. This is the time to be creative.

  4. Step 4

As a last resort take your boss out on the town and get him/her to reveal something that might be embarrassing. Just a little information could help secure your position within the company for life.

  5. Step 5

If all else fails and you realize that you will be fired take home vital information that the company needs to function like contact lists. Keep them as a ransom or use them to start up your own business replicating the work you used to do. You'd be surprised how often this happens.

Tips & Warnings
  • Trying some of these tips could result in getting fired. Every situation should be analyzed carefully first.
