Organize a Keno Game
Organize a Keno Game

Getting together for an afternoon or evening to play keno with a group of friends is fun and rewarding. Not only do you visit, eat and play keno, but you have a chance to win some nice gifts as well. Let's get started on organizing your game.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Keno Game
  • 11 Friends Plus Yourself
  • Purchase A Gift Within Price Limit
  • Refreshments
  • Deck Of Cards
  1. Step 1

A keno game can be purchased at your local discount or toy store. Usually this is located in the toy department, and may have the name Pokeno or Keno. After making your purchase, start calling your friends that you want to invite, you will need a total of 12 players. Keep thier names and phone numbers on a list inside the keno box. This helps each month when you are doing reminders.

  2. Step 2

Choose a date and time for your game, select refreshments and get your 11 friends together. You will need to let each player know the price limit on gifts, usually $10.00 to $15.00 and normally it will go along with your theme. If you choose a theme such as summer picnic, the players will need to bring a gift for a summer picnic, perhaps a basket, nice blanket, plastic dishes, or maybe even a bag of goodies and snacks. It needs to be in a gift bag or covered. Each player brings 1 gift.

  3. Step 3

The first round of games is regular keno (bingo) and each time someone kenos, they choose a gift and open it. In the event of multiple winners, each winner will pick a card from the deck, highest card wins the game and chooses a gift. You will start the game calling out cards, but each game, the next person calls. After all 12 players have called a game and there are no gifts left, the fun begins! You start over but this round can be callers choice of design or regular keno. When someone kenos, they get to choose a gift that someone else has won. This goes on until all 12 players have called a game. There is no limit to how many times a prize can be stole away. Again, if you have multiple winners in one game, draw cards for highest winner.

  4. Step 4

Normally after this round, everyone eats and takes potty breaks, when the game resumes, it will be another round of callers choice. And again, you steal prizes from other players. This is your final round of games, so after all 12 players have called a game, the prizes will go home with thier final stealers, in other words, if you have a prize in your posession at the end of this round, you get to take that prize home. You may go home with 2 or 3 prizes, just depending on how many times you keno, and how many times your gifts get taken away. It is alot of fun and a good way to meet new people.

  5. Step 5

Now each month, you can have a different person have the game at thier house, and they would be responsible for doing the reminder calls. This is just an option, you can have it every month if you choose.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try to send husbands and kids to the park or somewhere out of the house during the game so there are no interuptions.
  • Keep the refreshments simple, maybe finger foods
