Chocolate zucchini bread is a chocolaholics twist on traditional zucchini bread. If you have a surplus of humungous zucchini and are looking to make a tasty dessert bread, try this recipe for Chocolate Zucchini Bread

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 c flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 3 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ c cocoa powder or carob powder
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c vegetable oil
  • 2 c white sugar
  • 3 tsp vanilla
  • 2 c grated zucchini
  1. Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare two 8x4 bread pans by greasing and flouring them.

  2. Step 2

    Mix together the dry ingredients listed in the recipe. The dry ingredients are flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon and cocoa powder (or substitute carob powder).

  3. Step 3

    Beat together the wet ingredients in a large mixing bowl until they are well blended. The wet ingredients are eggs, sugar and vanilla.

  4. Step 4

    Add the dry ingredients to the bowl of wet ingredients and mix well. Stir the grated zucchini into the bread batter.

  5. Step 5

    Pour the Chocolate Zucchini Bread batter into greased and floured bread pans.

  6. Step 6

    Bake the zucchini bread for 50 to 60 minutes. Poke a fork or toothpick into the center of the bread. If it comes out clean, the Chocolate Zucchini Bread is done.

  7. Step 7

    Cool the zucchini bread in the pans for 15 minutes. Next, gently remove the zucchini bread loaves from the pans and let them cool completely on a rack.
