Calculate just how much calcium you eat on a regular basis. One of the biggest contributor to osteoporosis is not eating enough calcium on a regular basis. Consider a calcium supplement, especially if you are older than 30 years old.

Determine how much exercise you get on a regular basis. Not getting enough exercise can increase the chances of osteoporosis.

Find out if you are going through menopause. Menopause is a great contributor and risk factor of developing the disease.

Stop smoking cigarettes and drinking lots of alcohol , this will increase the chances of developing osteoporosis.

Step 6
Ask your doctor or pharmacist if the medicine you are taking is a contributor for the disease. Many medications can increase the chances of osteoporosis.
