Making the radial arm saw easier to use can eliminate the need for the other tools that do the same job and make the use more enjoyable.

Thoroughly study and understand the owner's manual. Understand the operation and setup of every part of the saw. Especially keep the kickback guard in top working condition. Understand and follow through on the maintenance needs of the saw. Always keep the saw adjusted and aligned properly to avoid dangerous kick backs or out of square or irregular cuts. Following safe operating procedures always makes the use of any tool easier.

2
Always keep the blade sharp. Double check the setting and angle of the blade before each use. Move the blade through the stock slowly. Never rush to make a cut.
-
-
3
Always keep the stock clamped or firmly held in position against the table and back stop.
-
4
Use a table surface that is large enough to hold the stock properly. For long stock use an extra stand or table to securely hold the stock. Trying to cut and hold stock that is not properly in position is dangerous and should never be tempted.
-
5
Use a jig for cutting repetitious pieces of stock. Although it takes some additional time to make the jig, it makes the cutting and assembling of pieces much easier.

Keep the area well lighted and free from clutter. Always wear properly fitting clothes.
