Use Hydrogen Peroxide (An Additional 10 Ways)

Hydrogen peroxide is a great product that is very versatile. It can be used in different ways around the house and in your garden. It also has many beauty and health uses.

Here are 10 ways you can use hydrogen peroxide and instuctions on how to do so.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Hydrogen peroxide can be used to treat colds and the flu.

To Use: Add 1 to 3 ounces of hydrogen peroxide (3%) to distilled water in a cool mist humidifier.

  2. Step 2

Did your cold get worse or refuse to go away? Try using a hydrogen peroxide-based nasal spray.

To Use: Add 1/2 ounce of hydrogen peroxide (3%) to 8 ounces of water and use as a nasal spray to beat the pesky infection.

  3. Step 3

Remove skunk odors from your beloved pet.

To Use: Mix 1 quart of hydrogen peroxide (3%) with 1/4 cup baking soda and 1 Tsp. of liquid soap. Bathe your furry friend and apply the hydrogen peroxide. Leave it on for 10 minutes and remember to avoid the facial area and eyes. Remember to wear latex gloves!

  4. Step 4

Get rid of ear wax build up!

To Use: Saturate a cotton swab in hydrogen peroxide (3%) and let a couple of drops go into the ear while your head is tilted. Then you should tilt your head the other direction in order for the hydrogen peroxide to come out. Remove the ear wax with a cotton swab.

*Note: Hydrogen peroxide does not remove ear wax by itself. It loosens the wax for easy removal.

  5. Step 5

    Clear up acne!

To Use: Apply directly to skin before bedtime. Use 3% hydrogen peroxide only.

Note: Hydrogen peroxide can clear up acne but will not prevent it. I would just recommend using it in an emergency situation, like if you were getting your pictures taken the next day.

  6. Step 6

Eliminate toxins in a detox bath!

To Use: Add 8 ounces of Food Grade hydrogen peroxide (35%) to a hot bath and soak for 20 minutes. Do not get the bath water in your eyes!

  7. Step 7

Get rid of mold around your house.

To Use: Pour hydrogen peroxide into a spray bottle. Spray the area and let sit. Use a sponge or some other cleaning instrument to scrub the mold away.

  8. Step 8

    Get rid of unsightly warts!

    To Use:
Dab Food Grade hydrogen peroxide (35%) directly on the wart using a cotton swab.

Note: Do not get the hydrogen peroxide on normal skin. The food grade hydrogen peroxide can burn your skin.

  9. Step 9

    Sanitize your tooth brush.

To Use: Insert your toothbrush into a cup of hydrogen peroxide.

Note: My best advice would be to soak your toothbrush at night. Hydrogen peroxide (use 3%) breaks down in the light, so brush your teeth, turn the lights out, and let it soak overnight!

  10. Step 10

Get rid of a tooth ache if you can't make it to the dentist.

To Use: A capful of hydrogen peroxide (3%) can get rid of the pain. Hold it in your mouth for 10 minutes and repeat often until the pain minimizes.

Tips & Warnings
  • Buy in bulk! You can buy Food Grade 35% Hydrogen Peroxide and dilute to form the normal over-the-counter strength of 3%.
  • Keep out of direct sunlight. Heat makes hydrogen peroxide break down and will eventually turn into water.
