How to make a boppy cover for a nursing boppy pillow is a very average article that guides you step by step on sewing a pillow cover for the pillow.

  2. Step 2

Take 1 yard of fabric and fold it in half with the fold line at the top of the fabric. Draw a kidney shape picture with a fabric pen on to the fabric. (The size will be from the top to the bottom of the fabric) Using the fabric pen allows you to do and redo the picture if needed as the picture starts to fade if you need to redo the picture. When you achieved the correct picture and size, cut out the shape with a sharp pair of scissors. When you cut out the picture you should have 2 pieces for the front and the back.

  3. Step 3

Next, take both of your pieces and measure a 24" opening at the bottom that will be your opening to insert the boppy pillow. Use 2 straight pins to mark the beginning and the end of the insert. This will allow you to sew all around the pillow and stop at the pin to insert the zipper or the velcro. Turn your fabric inside out and sew all around the pillow until you get to the pins. When you are finished sewing, turn the pillow cover right side up. Take your 24" zipper or 24" pieces of velcro (2 pcs) and pin them to the fabric opening. Make sure the fabric is folded over 1/2" to ensure that there is no fraying. Sew on the velcro or zipper which ever you choose to use and as you do be sure to take out pins as you go along. Your finished.

Tips & Warnings
  • Only used sew on velcro. Velcro that has sticky on the back will ruin your sewing needle and make fabric hard to sew.
  • Be careful of pins around small children and pets. Make sure that they are discarded safely.
