Things You'll Need:
- Map
- Trolley pass
-
Step 1
Walk up 4th Street and visit the Kentucky visitor center. Inside you can take a picture of Colonel Sanders himself. You can also get some tips of other fun activities from the friendly Kentucky workers.
-
Step 2
Take your picture with the different Gallopaloozas around the city. So Louisville is a city that loves its horses. Visit Louisville, and you visit horses. They love horses so much that they have statues of funky horses all around town.
-
Step 3
Go inside the Galt house on your Louisville visit. As you reach the end of 4th street, you will run into the Galt house. Once the 3rd floor there is a skyway with a beautiful view of the river, not to mention some really cute boutiques to shop in.
-
Step 4
Remember the Red Penguins. As you walk down 4th street into downtown, turn left at Main Street. As you walk along Main Street, you will see Red penguins along a building. It’s a hotel and a museum all in one. Be aware that some of the museum exhibits are not appropriate for kids.
-
Step 5
Check out the Louisville Slugger Museum and hit some pitches. There is a huge bat outside, the gift shop to visit, and a batting cage where you can hit 10 pitches for a dollar.
-
Step 6
Ride the trolley during your Louisville visit. A day pass is $3. Yeah, c’mon that’s a cheap deal isn’t it? You can catch some of the sites without hiking around town. Not to mention travel by trolley is a fun way to see the city.
