Have Inexpensive yet Romantic Dates

If you are looking for inexpensive ways to create romantic moments, look no further. A little money and planning can take an ordinary day or night into a romantic memory!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

*Plan an Inexpensive yet Romantic Picnic

A picnic can be a great romantic experience, but the key is to make sure you beat the family crowd by choosing an off-the-beaten path location or an unusual time. Here are a few ideas for romantic picnics:

Take a short drive to a more secluded state or local park; take a short one or two mile hike into the woods and have your picnic there.

Pack a picnic breakfast with croissants, coffee and liqueur, and strawberries. Have your picnic on a leisurely weekend morning.

Pack a picnic near a body of water like a lake, river, or stream.

Have a picnic in the late afternoon consisting of wine and appetizers--then pack everything up and go to dinner.

Have a picnic late in the evening by candlelight--even if it's just dessert and after-dinner drinks.

*Tip: Be sure to pack a blanket for your picnic so that you can enjoy some cuddle time.

  2. Step 2

*Plan an Inexpensive yet Romantic Hotel Evening

Spend the evening in a hotel room for a romantic night. The room and hotel don't need to be luxurious; it's the different location that makes it romantic. Pack some special food and drink. If you like, hit the hot tub together.

  3. Step 3

*Plan an Inexpensive yet Romantic Day at the Museum

Spend a few hours holding hands together at a museum. Later, have lunch at an outdoor cafe or enjoy a picnic.

  4. Step 4

*Plan an Inexpensive yet Romantic Day Road Trip

Take a on or two hour drive together to a park, an antique store, a special ice cream shop, or a rural cafe. Spend the drive talking. If you like, purchase a book of questions for the ride and discuss answers. (Some editions focus on love & relationships, which is something else to think about.)

  5. Step 5

*Plan an Inexpensive yet Romantic Camping Night

Even if you're not the outdoorsy type, a one-night camping trip can be an incredibly romantic experience. Be sure to check the weather--you don't want it to be too hot, rainy, or freezing cold. Cooler fall temperatures can make for an extra-special romantic trip; cuddle by a fire before hitting the tent for a night's sleep. Be sure to pack wine for the evening and coffee for the morning; also, grill or cook a meal over a camp stove together.

  6. Step 6

*Plan an Inexpensive yet Romantic Shut-in Sunday

Set up a cozy movie viewing location and watch movies for an entire day in bed. If necessary, move a tv and dvd player to a bedroom and cuddle all day watching favorite movies or rented movies. Take a trip to the store together before your event so that you can choose some food to share, or call for food takeout or delivery.

  7. Step 7

*Plan an Inexpensive yet Romantic Morning Bike Ride

Take a short bike ride in the morning, then have breakfast together at an outdoor cafe or cozy breakfast spot.
