Things You'll Need:
- Pumpkin, medium in size
- Pen
- Sharp paring knife
- 6x6 pillar candle, unscented
- Clay pot, for gardening
- Berry Branch, artificial
-
Step 1
Choose a pumpkin that is large enough for your candle and clay pot to fit into the top; this can also be created with very small pumpkins minus the clay pot.
-
Step 2
Turn the clay pot upside down and trace the circle onto the top of the pumpkin with your pen; use the pumpkin stem as your center point.
-
Step 3
Now, using your paring knife, carefully carve out the circle that you traced with your pen and remove the top of the pumpkin. Clean out the inside of the pumpkin as you would for Halloween carving. Discard the top and insides of the pumpkin as you will not need it.
-
Step 4
Once the pumpkin is cleaned, insert your clay pot into the hole in the top. If it does not fit, you may use your paring knife to carve away at the pumpkin until it does (only shaving away small pieces at a time to ensure a snug fit).
-
Step 5
Insert your 6x6 candle into the clay pot. Decorate with your berry branch and any other fall decor. Place the pumpkin on your dinner table, light the candle and enjoy.
