Keep Your House Cool During Warm Weather Cost Effectively
Keep Your House Cool During Warm Weather Cost Effectively

The warm weather is here and the days are hot and the nights are cool. Walk out side and the cool air is nice, walk back inside and the house is laying thick with warm air. The problem is air flow. Read these tips to create a positive air flow and do it while saving electricity.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Purchase 2 inexpensive window fans. The most common type these days are the dual fan type. These are available from many big box stores and are generally very inexpensive.

  2. Step 2

Look for fans that offer intake and exhaust. You may also find fans with temperature settings this is nice but not necessary.

  3. Step 3

Determine the air flow path and find two windows on opposite sides of your house to place the fans into.

  4. Step 4

Open the windows, and make sure the screens are pulled, otherwise you will have a house full of bugs.

  5. Step 5

Place one fan in the windows and set the air flow to intake

  6. Step 6

Place the last fan in the last window and set the fan direction to exhaust.

  7. Step 7

Turn both fans on and you will create an airflow drawing the cool evening air through your house and exhausting the warm air out.
