So, you think you have your business all planned out? Think again. Without a business plan that clearly lays out the future of your business your business may be stranded; you may have a mental plan for the future of your business, however, investors and lenders do not want a mental plan for a business, they require a well-written business plan. Think of it this way, if you were traveling to a destination that you had limited knowledge about, but, you weren’t quite sure exactly where it was located you would use a road map or a navigation system to lead you to your destination, right? Well, that is exactly what a business plan does; it acts as a roadmap or a navigation system leading you to your successful and profitable business free from unnecessary pitfalls. Use the information outlined in this article to help you write your healthcare business plan.

  1. Step 1

    Purchase business plan software; there are several on the market, however, Business Plan Pro (BPO) offer the most user-friendly and best-selling software for creating professional business plans on your own. If you don’t want to purchase the business plan software you can still create a professional business plan utilizing your current word processor, however, be sure that you use the proper format; font size, page layout, spacing and other pertinent aspects of formatting to ensure your business plan is not only clear and concise, but reader-friendly as well.

  2. Step 2

    Create a basic business plan using your Microsoft Word or you can use a notepad to write out various aspects of what your healthcare business will offer, who your target market is, what your assets are and your desired financial assistance for your business. Also included how long it will take your business to break-even, how much it will cost for you to start the business; this includes staff, advertising, equipment and all other related start-up costs. Remember this is just an outline, it should be clear, but it does not have to be stellar—not just yet, anyway.

  3. Step 3

    Create the executive summary; you may choose to create it last, although, it will be the first topic to appear on your completed business plan it may be written last since it acts as an introduction; showcasing the highlights of your business. Here is an example of an executive summary:

  4. Step 4

    Include company information; provide the names of the key people involved in the business, for example:
