Things You'll Need:
- A computer running Windows
-
Step 1
Depending on the version of Windows you have, you may have a different version of Internet Explorer. There are quite a few versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer, though most of them allow you to clear the browsing history in a similar way. For this demonstration, I will clear the browsing history on Internet Explorer 7, though the steps to clear the browsing history on other version is very similar.
-
Step 2
First, open up Internet Explorer. It may be on your desktop, in your Start Menu, or you may have to find it using the "Search Menu".
-
Step 3
Once Internet Explorer is open on your computer, click "Tools", then "Internet Options". There is another way to access these "Internet Options" to clear Internet Explorer's browsing history, covered in the next step.
-
Step 4
You can also access the options from the control panelThe alternative method to accessing Internet Explorer's "Internet Options" and clearing its browsing history is to access the Control Panel, found in the Start Menu. Once the Control Panel is open, double-click "Internet Options".
-
Step 5
Now that the "Internet Properties" window is open, we can clear Internet Explorer's browsing history. In the middle of the window, there should be a section titles "Browsing history". Click "Delete...", and a new window will pop up.
-
Step 6
You can clear Internet Explorer's browsing history from this windowNow, you can choose from several internet files to delete. At the very least, choose to clear Internet Explorer's browsing history by selecting "Delete history". I would recommend, however, to also delete "Temporary Internet Files" and occasionally delete the Cookies. And thats it, you have just cleared Internet Explorer's browsing history!
