Things You'll Need:
- 2 cups of your favorite rice
- 1 lb Ground Meat (hamburger , ground chuck what's left over in the fridge)
- butter spread
- onion
- 3.75 cups water

Step 1
Fryed OnionsOk now Peal and Chop you onion. Add about a teaspoon of butter spread to your skillet and get it up to heat adding your onions. let onions get some color around the edges and break up the ground meat into the skillet. season to taste you know salt pepper what ever you like. I have simple tastes just a little salt and pepper for me.

Tosting riceonce your ground meat and onions are cooked through remove from skillet and save some of the meat drippings in the skillet. Add another teaspoon of butter spread to the skillet and once it is hot add your rice dry. what you want to do is toste the rice so stir it and don't let it set to long or it will burn. when you smell the rice tosting it will smell like nuts. you should see a color change in the rice and some of the rice will have brown edges.

Poor Mans RiceOnce your rice is ready add back your meat and onions. Mix well and start adding your water you have to work fast your pan is HOT from the tosting some times it helps to add some water first to cool your pan a little. once all your water is added. bring back to a boil. stir to mix and put a lid on it turning down the skillet to simmer for 5 minutes. after about 5 minutes turn off the skillet and wait for 20 minutes before taking off the lid. once your time is up mix well and test rice to make sure it is done how you like. If its to dry add a little HOT water and wait 5 more minutes
