How to Connect a Pool Vacuum to a Filter
Maintaining a swimming pool requires vacuuming the bottom of the pool to remove debris to keep it clean. 1
Block off all but one skimmer basket. You will only need one skimmer to clean the pool with a vacuum. Use the rubber stopper you received with the pool installation to plug the skimmers.
-
2
Take your equipment to the open skimmer basket. Attach the vacuum hose to the vacuum head. The vacuum head has a hole that allows you to attach the hose by placing it into the hole and turning to lock.

3
Place the long-handled extension pole onto the vacuum head. The pole inserts into the handle bracket and locks in place with two pushpins.
-
4
Place the vacuum head on the bottom of the pool. Sink the hose in the water so that the entire hose fills with water. Start at the end of the hose not attached to the vacuum head. Make sure that you hang onto the loose hose end.

5
Place the vacuum skimmer on the end of the hose in your hand after you have filled the entire hose with water. The flat plate fits on the end of the hose and is placed over the skimmer basket. The suction from the skimmer will hold the plate in place. The debris will flow through the hose and into the skimmer basket.
