How to Fix Sysfader

Microsoft Windows has many different files that control different aspects of the operating system. Sysfader is the file that controls all of the Windows animation effects, such as in and out menu fades (thus, the "fader" in its title). However, some users can experience "sysfader.exe" errors when a window is trying to load. Because the sysfader.exe file is not necessary for Windows to run, it will not harm anything if it is removed. So if you are receiving an unfortunate number of Sysfader errors, it might be best to remove the file to fix the problem.

  • Find the "My Computer" desktop icon and right-click it. A pull-down menu will appear. Select "Properties."

  • Click on the "Advanced" tab. This will load a new page of options.

  • Select the "Visual Effects" tab at the top of the window and deselect "Animate Windows when minimizing and maximizing," "Fade or slide menus into view," "Fade or slide Tool Tips into view" and "Fade out Menu items after checking."

  • Click "OK." This will remove most if not all of the Sysfader effects, at the same time correcting related errors that used to come up during opening a new file or program.
