How to Increase Reception on a Motorola RAZR

Like most modern cellular phones, the Motorola RAZR features an antenna that is built into the phone. However, there will be times where you will want to increase the RAZR's reception. In order to do this, you will need to install a signal booster, which will increase the range of the phone's wireless signal.

Instructions

1. Purchase a desktop or portable cellular phone signal booster. Desktop signal boosters are desirable because they are easy to transport. Car sets can be purchased but are only usable while in an automobile. These devices may be purchased through the wireless carrier's store or website.

2. Plug the amplifier antenna into the charging port of the phone. Depending on the device you may need to plug the device into a wall outlet. Other portable amplifiers will use the battery of the cell phone to power the device.

3. Power on the portable amplifier (if it is a desktop unit). The portable units are power on once they are plugged into the phone. The phone will automatically use the increased reception of the amplifier once it is powered on.
