Tissue holders are an attractive means of carrying tissues around, or making them available to guests in your home, without having to use plastic packets or cardboard boxes. This tissue holder can be used for tissues in travel packs and it can be completed in little time.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fabric
  • Lining fabric
  • Pins
  • Sewing machine or needle and thread
  • Pencil
  • Tissue
  • Scissors
  1. Step 1

Cut a rectangular piece of your fabric measuring 6" x 6 ½". Cut another piece with the same measurements from your lining fabric.

  2. Step 2

Place the pieces together, right sides facing, and pin.

  3. Step 3

Sew all around the sides, leaving an allowance of ¼" from the edges. Leave an opening of about 4 inches on one side. Use a pair of scissors to trim as close to the seams as possible on the three closed sides.

  4. Step 4

Open the seam allowance on the side with the 4-inch gap and iron it flat.

  5. Step 5

Turn the pouch right side out through the opening. Use the tip of a pencil to push the corners out.

  6. Step 6

Place the pouch down on a flat surface. The side with the exterior fabric should be on top. Fold the short sides of the fabric so that the edges meet in the middle of the fabric. Pin the edges down.

  7. Step 7

Sew across the short edges and then turn the tissue holder right side out through the opening.

  8. Step 8

Place your tissues in your completed tissue holder.

Tips & Warnings
  • To make a bigger holder, measure the length and width of the tissues and adjust your pattern accordingly.
