Windows Live Mail is an email program that allows you to add multiple email accounts such as Yahoo!, Gmail and AOL into one easy-to-use program. Much like Outlook Express, you can add newsgroups, add tasks to the calendar, add feeds and send picture messages with absolute simplicity. Windows Live Mail is very simple to configure. Within minutes, you can add and configure new accounts and newsgroups, begin communication with people and read online news.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Launch Windows Live Mail if you have it installed on your computer. If you do not have it installed, download and install it (see Resources).

  2. Step 2

Click the Windows "Start" button and click "All Programs." Scroll up to the Windows Live folder and click "Live Mail."

Click "Add Email Account" on the main interface. Type in the email address and password of the email account you want to add.

  4. Step 4

  5. Step 5

Type your incoming email server settings and the security settings and click "Finish" to complete the setup and configuration. Move to the next step to add a newsgroup.

  6. Step 6

Click the "Newsgroup" button on the left panel and click "Add newsgroup account." Type in a name for your newsgroup and click "Next."

  7. Step 7

Type in the email address where users can get in contact with you and click "Next."

  8. Step 8

Type the name of the news server you want to connect to, such as news.google.com, and click "Next." Type in a username and password if the news server you are using requires one. Click "Finish" to complete the setup and configuration.
